It was wonderful to discover during the pandemic that our shift to operating as an Online French Institute proved a great success for our students, economising, as it does, on travelling time and costs. We were not anticipating the success of this online teaching model, but are delighted by the positive feedback that we continue to receive from our students, big and small!
We have offered French courses in Oxford since 1987: we have used that time to create, develop and refine well-tested methods of enabling our students to achieve the very highest standards and grades.
For 27 years, we were the Oxford branch of Alliance Française. In 2014, we chose to become independent in order to be free of the bureaucratic requirements of a larger organisation.
We decided against large classes and nondescript venues. Instead, we launched our Mini-Class system where numbers in groups are restricted to a maximum of 5 students, taught in a welcoming context of books, paintings and flowers.
All of us here are French, inspired by a love of our native language and of our wonderful culture. We are a team of tutors who are deeply committed to teaching and sharing this passion for French with our students in a dynamic and professional manner.
We are a team of young academics, all native speakers. Our teaching skills are perfected by university degrees and training practice. With our help you will learn to enjoy real conversations in French as much as you do in your own native language. And we are determined to make our younger pupils excel in their exams.
